    Indians take the lidlifter of Sunday twinbill when Graig Nettles scores on a Mel Stottlemyre wild pitch in the top of the 9th. Stottlemyre had held the Tribe at bay on only four hits entering the ninth.

    New York loaded the bases in the bottom of the frame, but John Ellis grounded out to third to end the game.

    Indians sweep the Yankees and take the series on Duke Sims' two run home run in the 11th.

    As they did in the opener, the Yankees loaded the bases in the last frame, but Dennis Higgins closed the door by striking out John Ellis and inducing Danny Cater to ground out to second.
