Game Notes

Dave Campbell hit for the cycle as the improbable Padres won their fourth straight and gained a game on Cincinnati.

Campbell's 2-run HR in the 5th was the deciding factor in the game. He completed the cycle in the ninth with a two-out single, and then was picked off first base by Phils' reliever Barry Lersch.

Campbell was acquired in the off-season from Detroit in a trade that also sent Pat Dobson to San Diego in exchange for Joe Niekro. The trade thusfar is paying solid dividends for the Padres.
