New Additions to Astros Roster

A new scorecard daily is required to recognize the players on the Astros’ roster. Six players reported shortly after the close of their seasons in the minors. They were Ivan Murrell, Bob Watson, Aaron Pointer and Pat House from Oklahoma City (Pacific Coast); Danny Coombs from Amarillo (Texas) and Hal King from Asheville (Carolina).

The next week three more players reported: Chris Zachary, Lee Bales and Howie Reed, all from Oklahoma City. Meanwhile, Norm Miller is slated to leave the team September 11 for five months’ duty in the Army Reserves. And during a six game trip to the West Coast, Manager Grady Hatton left five injured players at home. They were Bob Aspromonte, John Bateman, Wade Blasingame, Don Wilson and Carroll Sembera. The veteran Jackie Brandt was give his outright release.
